Police responded to Burd Street Sunday, Feb. 10 just after 2 a.m. on the report of a stolen iPhone 6 and the possibility of an ongoing physical altercation.

Police arrived, interviewed the victim and canvassed the area. After the investigation, the two suspects were identified as 30-year-old Llauren Williams of South Franklin Street in Nyack and 32-year-old Raheam Dobbins of E. Centre, Alabama.

Dobbins and the victim were allegedly involved in an altercation after Dobbins stole the victim’s cell phone while both parties were patronizing a Main Street business, according to police.

During the altercation, Dobbins allegedly showed a razor knife and entered Williams’ vehicle. While Dobbins remained engaged with the victim, Williams operated the vehicle and knowingly dragged the victim in the roadway, police said.

Nearby Orangetown Police officers located Williams’ vehicle on Depew Avenue in Nyack, conducted a vehicle stop, and recovered both the weapon and the stolen iPhone 6.

Further investigation revealed that Williams was operating a vehicle with a suspended New York driver’s license.

Both suspects were arrested and charged with second-degree robbery (act in concert with another). Dobbins was also charged with first-degree robbery (use of a weapon), second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Williams faces additional charges for second-degree endangerment and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Both suspects were arraigned by the Hon. Robert Knoebel at Nyack Justice Court and remanded to the Rockland County Jail.
